Crandall Menus

Crandall Corporate Dietitians offers several different menu options to accommodate the needs of your residents and dietary department. Our menus are written by registered dietitians who are skilled in sourcing ingredients, pricing and creating menus that meet OBRA guidelines and state regulations. They are available in two different formats: hardcopy or online.

The hardcopy format is the menu preprinted and shipped to communities in 7 binders. A CD with the reports in either Excel or Word document formats is provided to assist in making permanent changes to the menu. Training will soon be available online for hardcopy menu customers. Menu cost is a one-time fee for that particular release. When a new release is available, order forms and a sample of the new seasonal release are emailed and faxed to the communities.

The online format is the menu available through our Online Menus program; which is web-based. No preprinted material or binders are shipped. When the account is set up, an access username and password are assigned. Training is done through Training Modules available online through the program itself (brand new feature!). Menu cost is a monthly fee, billed quarterly. When a new seasonal release is available, it is automatically activated (as long as the account is in good standing).

There are several advantages to using the Online Menus program:

  • make a change in one place and it is changed everywhere
  • see only the Therapeutic Diets you are actually serving
  • Recipes and Purchase Order Guides according to resident census rather than quantified measures
  • monitor budget and costs more closely and easily
  • training is online!   NEW!
  • pureed recipes already assigned to meal items
  • reports automatically print with dates on them
  • ability to change the names of meals and/or assign start times or time ranges 
  • ability to flip-flop meals with a couple keystrokes
  • flexible format makes it possible to serve an Open Dining style

Specifically for Corporations:

  • upload their Vendor Pricing for their communities   NEW!
  • create a Corporate specific or directive menu for their communities   NEW!
  • monitor your communities' Account Activity   NEW!

The newest features in the program are:

Vendor Pricing - option for corporations to upload their nationally contracted price list into the program - great assist in budget control and cost containment

'Corporate Directive' Menus - option for corporations to make adjustments (for budget and cost controls) to the Crandall menu, then release to their own communities. With the corporation's directives already made to the menu, only the changes that are specific to the community are left to be made - making it easier to roll out the new menu more quickly.

Account Activity - option for corporations to monitor and evaluate their communities' use of the Online Menus program.

Online Training - the training for the program is now available - all online! The training is formatted in modules allowing the student to learn at their own pace and convenience. Our Online Menus support staff is always available for assistance or problem solving.
